IMG Vitrine (“the app”) doesn’t collect your personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, and no usage tracking. Viewing, editing, and AI processing all happen on your PC.
How we handle what you send through the report page on this website is described in section 3.
1. When the app connects to the internet
The app connects to the internet only in the following two cases.
Showing place names (off by default)
Only if you turn on Settings > Display > Place names, when you view a photo that has location (GPS) data in the info panel, the app sends the photo’s latitude and longitude to the reverse geocoder of the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) (mreversegeocoder.gsi.go.jp) and receives the place name.
- Only the latitude and longitude are sent. The photo itself, its file name, and any information that identifies you are not sent.
- GSI is a government agency of Japan (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism).
- As with any internet connection, your IP address is visible to the server.
- Place names are available only for locations in Japan.
If you leave this setting off (the default), the app never makes this connection.
Downloading AI models (only when you agree)
The first time you use high-quality cutout or generative erase, the app asks for your permission. Only if you agree, it downloads the model file from one of the following. Your photos and file names are not sent.
- GitHub (github.com)
- Hugging Face (huggingface.co)
In this case, too, your IP address is visible to the server.
During installation
If your PC doesn’t have the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which the app needs to display its window, the installer may download it from Microsoft. Windows 11 includes it, so this usually doesn’t happen. Your photos and personal information are not sent.
2. What the app stores on your PC
The following data is stored only on your PC and is never sent anywhere:
- Settings
- Startup time records, temporary face detection results, and downloaded AI models
When you uninstall the app, this data is deleted too.
3. The report page and this website
Only if you submit the report page (Report a problem or contact us), what you write there (the type, your message, a description of the problem, an optional reply email address, and the app version) is delivered to the developer. You can’t send images on this page, and the app never sends images or photo information automatically.
What you send is used only to respond to your report and to improve the app, and isn’t shared with third parties. Delivery uses the email service Resend (https://resend.com). To prevent abuse, the page host, Vercel (https://vercel.com), temporarily handles the sender’s IP address.
When you open a page on this website, Vercel also handles your IP address and similar information to deliver it.
4. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the effective date.
